We provided contractor quantity surveying services for the Ardfin Estate project on the Isle of Jura, one of the most ambitious and prestigious private restoration programmes undertaken in Scotland in recent decades. Set along the dramatic southern coastline of this remote Inner Hebrides island, the 12,000-acre estate underwent a decade-long transformation, with an estimated investment of £50 million to bring it to its current five-star standard.
Our involvement centred on the meticulous restoration and extension of Jura House a Category C listed Victorian villa sensitively restored to well beyond its former splendour together with the transformation of the estate's historic agricultural Quadrangle buildings into an 18-bedroom luxury hotel, complete with expansive public spaces, and a range of ancillary estate buildings.
The project demanded a careful balance between preserving the estate's rich heritage character and delivering the highest standards of contemporary luxury accommodation, in one of the most remote and logistically challenging locations in the British Isles.
